higher comp. takes LESS boost to achieve the same hp numbers. so lowering comp and running higher boost levels is just kind of running around in circles.95civicjdmgsr;3325 wrote:Im not argueing, Id just like you to explain that a little better. Im not following you. And thanks for the welcome.
you will not reach the same horsepower figure by lowering compression and running 20 lbs that you would if you were pushing 20lbs with the stock c/r (granted that would probably blow your motor if you tried it). Sure, by lowering compression will let you push more psi, but you are only doing it to make up for the power you lose when you lower the compression; you're taking one step back to take one step forward.
you should base your build on a HORSEPOWER goal, not a boost level goal, that is the point everyone is making.
all you are doing it gaining the 'bragging rights' that you are boosting more.
This post comes with a guarantee: I guarantee that I don't care what you think about it.

Holy Crap, your right. I wish my mind would have thought of this, I knew I shouldn't drink so much. Thanks for explaining that. Now I have to rethink the entire process, but yea your right I just wasn't thinking.Spork;3396 wrote:higher comp. takes LESS boost to achieve the same hp numbers. so lowering comp and running higher boost levels is just kind of running around in circles.
