Finally got a ticket...questions inside

Ive heard from way too many people that TLC sucks...and I doubt Dan is going to want to take a case this far away, I told you that Jake. And Ill be damned if people are going to get in a fight in another one of my threads, so everyone chill out. The main question I had was if handling this would be any different from getting a ticket in my county, and what type of increase in insurance I could expect if I didnt have it taken care (being my first offence).

pay the fine and move on... worry about a lawyer if you get another one...

the one speeding ticket i had didnt even raise my insurance

I somewhat agree on this, perhaps if you called the courthouse in herman you might get it lowered to something smaller but the last time i visited the courthouse there a guy was trying the same thing and they were being real dicks about it.....i hate some of or most of the cops for gasconade county, i live near the line but in franklin still and they tail me anytime i cross the line...even in my purple plymoth

how sad is that that they have nothing better to do....lol anyway i hope you get it lowered or something

If Andrew can't figure out how to 'get a lawyer' then he needs to just pay the fine and take the points. But he is alot smarter than that, there is the internet and something called a phone book. Andrew, I've used TLC in the past and could probably help you find other lawyers if needed...

Explain how I'm an idiot. Where in all of my statements is something that I said considered idiotic? This is his first ticket, so I assume that he knows nothing about the process. If you've never dealt with this situation, people saying 'get a lawyer' doesn't really help that much if you don't know where to look to get one.

When I had to deal with a ticket I got in podunk town, Iowa, it was damn hard for me to find a lawyer to take it. NOT hard to find a lawyer (google + courthouse), just one that would handle the ticket. Turns out they don't fix tickets there (which is partially why it was so hard).

For all those people that said to pay the fine, they're the idiots. Why make it so you only have 1 strike left against your license vs having 2 left (for insurance costs)? That's the most retarded statement ever. Remember, it doesn't have to be just a speeding ticket that can jack up your rates.

Common sense must not be adherent with kids these days.

Also I forgot since sine this is his first strike he can go to court and pay the fine and the judge will allow him to take defensive driving school and pay 50 for it. Thats not a bad option either bc it still keeps the points off. But a lawyer will cost between 40-75 from who I have used. If you need help finding a lawyer pm me and ill give you my lawyers info and hes a cool guy.
