Finally got a ticket...questions inside
Well I know I should get this taken care of, got a 79 in a 60 in Gasconade County. If I dont get it fixed what can I expect on increase for my insurance? And living like an hour and half away from Gasconade, how hard will it be to have it fixed as far as a lawyer is concerned? Any harder than a ticket right here in my county? I wish since this had to happen, it would have happened closer to home. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Get a lawyer!
Get a lawyer!
Get a lawyer!
If you get a lawyer, all you would have to do is pay the fine when they mail it to you.

The insurance change may not be that dramatic since it would be your first offence (depending on your age too), but that will stay on your insurance/license for years, and if you get a second ticket during that time, your costs will skyrocket.
What you need to do to find a lawyer there is call the court house and see first if you can even get it fixed. If you can, then you can ask them what lawyers are in town that can do this. They have to tell you (one of your amendment rights). Then call each of them and ask about getting it fixed and how much they charge. You should be able to find all the phone numbers from google since these people have to have a business address.
Best of luck.

Thanks for the input. The cop did say I could pay it in the mail, and with it being so far away from where I live, I didnt know if it would be any different with getting a lawyer. John, Ill just do what you say and I guess they can just mail me any bills. Im 18, so I have a while before I hit the age to where my insurance will be lowered. Thanks again for the input guys.

Why don't you be a bit more helpful than just saying 'get a lawyer?' If you don't know where to look to find a lawyer you're still trying to 'get a lawyer' but you're fucked because you don't know where to go. Fuck. Post something worthwhile or post nothing in threads like these.soundqjr;34914 wrote:Dude get a lawyer somehow end of thread

If Andrew can't figure out how to 'get a lawyer' then he needs to just pay the fine and take the points. But he is alot smarter than that, there is the internet and something called a phone book. Andrew, I've used TLC in the past and could probably help you find other lawyers if needed...
