b series or d series?

Post by slos13drftr »

Well... right now Im out of cash, and was thinking when I get more... should I turbo the d series? Or just save up for the b series my buddy has but could be possibly gone within the next month?

I figured... d series parts are easier to come by rather than a jdm b18c and then if I blow the motor I could pick whatever I want up from the local junkyard rather than having to order it offline.

I looked around on d-series.org and homemadeturbo.com and i was curious...

what mods are there for it to give it a little pep? its a b7 btw.

b7's are so weak tho. If it was a z6 or y8/7 then that would be different. Rods are very weak on the b7

d16 rods have different sized big ends, and different lengths.. (134 vs 136, IIRC?) if you want a stout 1.5 liter bottom end, find a JDM D15B crank or bottom end, and then you can use the D16 rods..

edit: back when i was inquiring about the b7 internals, stronger rods were like 770+shipping.. I just found some for 385+shipping so you could go that direction if you wanted to.

I'd say 160, maybe more or less.
