1957 Chevrolet 150 "Black Widow"
Just 2 years after Chevrolet released their very first overhead valve V8 engine, they made anotherhuge milestone, the very first fuel injection system. In 1957 the first "fuelie" was just a mechanical fuel injection system, but worked so well it became the first engine to make 1hp per cubic inch with its 283ci, 283hp V8.
The famous "Black Widow" was a 1957 Chevy sedan based off the bottom of the line model, the 150. The BW featured a stripped down interior with a roll bar behind the front seats and under the dash. It also had a larger fuel cell, truck brakes, heavy duty suspension with dual springs, and the famed fuel injected 283 small block. The package was originally made to run in NASCAR but was disqualified because it did not have any carburators.
The name Black Widow came because the car was only available in a black and white 2-tone and was also menacing, as it was one of the fastest factory made cars in its time. Production was siezed because of NASCAR, so no accurate production numbers are known. From what I have gathered there are less than 10 in the world and are now worth a shit ton of money.

note! all other fuel injected chevrolets in 1957 had the cross flags emblem on the front fender, the BW had it on the tailfin
