For small time autoX it is def not necessary. You can get 5 lug size brakes for a 4 lug without much hassle. 5 lug looks cool though:icon_biggrin:
As far as wheel selection goes, yeah it might be better, but last time I checked there wasn't exactly a shortage of nice 4x100 wheels out there.
