5 lug conversion for Integra

Post by J.M.P »

Just curious if anyone around here has done one for an Integra. I have been doing some research, still have some to do. Since I am not really doing anything motor wise to my car, I thought of maybe doing a 5lug on my Integra to make it a little different, and upgrade it a little bit.

How beneficial is the 5lug over the 4lug setup i already have. I do plan to do some auto x probably next year or so.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
James

Benifits? Usually allows for ease of larger brakes. Larger Hubs/ more supportive, Other than that. Not much.

Yes, I have been reading up on them. I would get the benefit of larger brakes/rotors, and such, which is one thing I would be going for.

Like say I am doing some small time auto x, would it be real beneficial to do the swap to 5 lug or just upgrade what I have now?

Also if I were to do the swap, would it be better to do a usdm or jdm? I read usdm because of the abs.

Thanks for the info so far!!

JDM 98+ ITR fronts use 36mm axles as opposed to 32mm. ABS is the same on both Us/Japanese.

Ahh I see, I just read somewhere that usdm was recommended for the abs, didn't know they both had it.

Since you seem to be the type r expert. Which would you go with if you were doing the swap? The usdm or jdm?

apparently you can also use the suspension from a crv. they have a 5 lug and as far as i know everything needed to do 5 lug will bolt up with no modification.

It's mainly for wheel selection. You can get good big brake upgrades for 4 lug for far cheaper than doing the 5 lug swap. So if its for looks go for it, I wish I could afford to do it too haha but if its for performance do some research on redrilling some prelude rotors or other big brake upgrades for the 4 lug and save the rest of the money for other parts.

all brake calipers can be modified to fit a 4 lug set up. you will need to re-drill rotor and modify the caliper bracket depending on what set up you want to run. now i myself have been looking @ 5 lug for next year better wheel selections, and over all looks thats it.
You can talk shit all you want! eventually noone will care about your input. :yo:

Thanks all for your help, advice, etc. If I do this, it won't be till next year more than likely, unless I come across something I can't pass up. I will be doing some autox next year, and will be upgrading either way. I will keep doing my research and such.

Till then, more advice or whatever is awesome.

James.
