koni yellows n i got questions

i got an 01 civic ex coupe that needs new shocks. i got the koni package from tire rack that has 4 koni yellows and 4 lowering springs in it and got it here and the directions are telling me to cut the strut housing n put the new shock in it. i was wondering if anyone has done this before and could tell me if im gunna have problems or if this is a good idea since i just got the car and dont want to mess anything up on it.

yeah i saw a write up on this a long time ago, since konis dont have spring perches your supposed to basically cut the shocks in half and put the konis inside of them lol, I would never attempt it

I was told you can buy spring perches for the koni's. I have not exactly looked though

Before you cut the shock drill a drain hole and drain the oil or you run the risk of catching the oil on fire from the heat of cutting.

yea thanks guys adrenaline n st peters said they would help me out on it. ive had them for over a month n i dont think i can send them back now
