Immovable Bolt. HELP

Post by bemberg2 »

So there is this bolt. It NEEDS to come off so I can remove my rear struts and replace my springs, but refuses to budge. The bolt is on the control arm and is the closest to the brake drum. I have tried 1/2" breaker bar, impact wrench, heating it up w/ torch and then wrench/breaker bar, NOTHING. Does anyone have any advice or prove their manliness by getting it off? Let me know if you have tips or know if i can remove the strut/spring by pivoting the member out of the car the other way, by removing the upper bolt connecting the control arm to the middle part of the car. THANKS!

Thanks for the links. This sounds like a really common problem. I'll do some searching for LCAs and some more money.

Yeah, most people end up breaking the LCA bolt. I think I was one of the few lucky ones that didnt when I had my CRX back in the day.
