Need help all motor d16 wont warm up

Post by mlr198769er »

OK here's the deal. I got a mini me d16y7, d15b head that been milled, jg adjustable cam gear @6 degrees advanced, a1 pistons, lightweight underdrive pulley, 7lb flywheel, new rods, bearings, rings, no a/c or p/s. Everything combined ended up with 270-260-265-260 psi compression. Its in a ek, stock radiator and thermostat. Will not warm up. Changed the thermostat and sensor. The gauge works cause if I run it low(when im flushing it out) it will warm up. Fill her back up and she cools back down and wont warm up, EVER. Blows out hot air from the vents when the heater is on but not scorching hot or anything. IDK. Im out of ideas and i've been looking for answers everywhere noone can figure it out(so far). Runs on 93 octane and runs really strong. One guy said its just to much compression and another said its the fuel cooling it down. Any help and ideas will be tried thanks. Im running the stock p2p ecu could this be a problem? The reason i say this is because i dropped the car into a hatch originally and it warmed up for a little bit but when i would drive down the road it would do the same thing temp would drop and wouldnt go back up

OK, second option is the "loop hose" that goes from the passenger side of the intake to by the thermostat housing is in the wrong spot. That will let water bypass the thermostat all the time and have the car run cool.

omg i've had this car 3 months now and i think i just figured it out with a bit of your help imma go take it out for a test drive. The heater cable came of that valve on the firewall and was letting all the water bypass the termostat. Hang on i'll post up in five or ten minutes

anyone ever heard of the dash gauge going outta sync? or need to be recalibrated? Cause my awesome instincts for picking up a cool ass laser thermometer paid off and is telling me that my thermostat housing is 159 on the hot side and 140 on the cold side

CHECK

THE

LOOP

HOSE

160 is too cold. #3 in this pic. Make sure it's hooked up as shown. If not, like I said, that's your problem...
