Post by SnailFed »

I am throwing: P0131 Primary Heated Oxygen Sensor (Primary HO2S) (Sensor 1) Circuit Low Voltage

I have checked the connection and it is fine. I have also tried another primary o2 and it still throws a check engine. What else do I need to check for?

Please help!!

It is a 2000 Honda Civic EX. d16y8. I can't pass emissions b/c of this damn check engine. Is it possible that I have a bad primary o2 sensor even though I have tried another one?

Is that the code that normally comes up if it is a bad o2 or is that something else?

Thanks for the replies!

Options :

- Other o2 sensor you tried is bad.
- too high resistance in the wiring (o2 signal wire)
- short to voltage in the ground side of the sensor.

-Id double check the connectors.. ( Could be corroded/ water in them . - Possibly use electrical contact cleaner)

-Check Ohms of Signal wire (White) --> (look at pinout) http://www.ek9.org/forum/other-technica ... -obd1.html

-Check for shorts from O2 sensor ground to Power (battery) - A test light would work fine.

Hope this helps
