civicex442;82967 wrote:your only other option is to find someone with a legal car that looks just like yours and have the emission guy inspect your car and then move the camera to look at the other car and do the emission test on it. only draw back is you have to find a car just like yours and a emission tester willing to help. thats what im doing
I think the DMV will check the VIN on the emissions sheet and on the title and know theres a difference...

negatory. take pictures of my civic, then do emission test on other red civic. no vin number can be pulled from the clean air check

So when you take your OBD-II car to a licensed emissions testing facility, they don't wirte the Make, Model, VIN, and Mileage of the vehicle being tested on the Pass/Fail Sheet?

nope. they type it in.

what joe is saying is that they will write down HIS info but when its time to plug the module for the emissions part, he will be using someone else's car that is guaranteed to pass the sniff test for him. the only downfall about this is you have to find someone willing to risk their job to do this.

if the motor has been converted up to OBD2 like the car, you shouldn't have a problem with it...

conversion harness? I dont think there is an obd1->obd2 conversion harness... did you use the wiring from your car, or the 95 motor?
what all did you use from the 95?
