Need Help Ls/Vtec

wow i havent posted here in a long time... since like 06.. anyways hope the guys i use to know who where guru's in this stuff are still on this site. alright to the point. just built a ls/vtec but i am getting a major problem its burning oil bad. pulled all spark plugs have oil on them, i shine a light down on the pistons an there is oil pooling on top of them... had the head sent back to the machine shop to make sure nothing with wrong with it, put new valve guides in an all that jazz. yet still smoking... hope someone might have a good idea on what is going on. im thinking maybe the piston rings that came with are crap? i dunno.

if its not valve guides next best guess is rings and your shit is still slow period.

Yep. Just built? Or just built, then it sat for a long ass time. Rings could be sticking/installed wrong/other shit.

hmm it could be your valve seals. id do a leak down test and see if your getting blow by if so its your rings

might be the same issue i had with my LS/V ... machine shop that bored my cylinders didnt use a TQ plate and the cyliners are out of round

yea I'd do a leakdown test. It will show exactly where its coming from.

i believe its all of them last time i checked... car is at home in florida... im in north carolina at base.... but will be home next week due to EASing to figure out whats going on

haha thanks last deployment to Afghanistan tore me up... compaired to iraqs deployment. just want to get as far from the military as i can now haha
