Hmm....b18a1 w/ Boost Or b18a1 ls/vtec w/ Boost?
Looking For Suggestions Should I Go With The Ls/Vtec Swap And Boost It Or Stick With The Stock B18A1 Head And Have It Tricked Out Since Heard The Vtec Doesnt Really Matter When You Get Into Forged Induction....

Vtec heads flow a lot better even if the ls head is ported they still aren't as good as a vtec head

wow never heard of forged induction and it all depends on what your plans are if i were you id build the bottom end first you can always add a vtec head later
turbo lag psh? boost is only a down shift away

I used to own an LS and i was very against Ls-vtec. Then i bought an Ls-vtec and im sold on them. It makes a huge difference. Start looking into built turbo'd Lsv's....theyre sick. Just make sure if you go that route, you have it done by a reputable shop. Ls-vtec can be unreliable if not done correctly. And a tune makes a huge difference too

stock bottom end can handle the same.... about 300whp. sure they can handle more, but reliably, 300whp is about the limit. you can get 300whp on a stock ls or ls-vtec. so if youre planning on keeping a stock bottom end, i say stay with stock ls. if youre gonna build bottom, go ahead and add the vtec.

Are you doing any of the work yourself?stlhonda92;254963 wrote:ok thanks everyone ..yah im keeping stock sleeves but getting crower rods and JE Pistons ...and think i may just boost it with stock head for now and have vtec head done up later ...whats a good reputable shop for doing the ls/vtec head work or swap?
It isn't too bad. You will need a conversion "kit" that contains everything.
headgasket
oil line to head
fitting into head for feed oil
tap and plug for an oil pressure galley
adapter for oil feed to pressure source
and gsr everything else (water pump/headstuds/timing belt etc.)
and any obd2 oil pump
......at least thats what I have I think.
