ok, ive done some research but im still a little confused on the wiring. im swapping a obd1 b18b1 into my 99 civic hatchback. the car currently doesnt have a wiring harness so my question is: should i pick up a wiring harness for a 99 civic hatch or a harness for the b18? and is there any differences in the wiring harnesses between the civic hatchback/coupe/4door? and will i need any conversion harness for the wiring harness since the motor is obd1 and my car is obd2?
the car also doesnt have an ecu, i believe i want to get a p72 for my swap. is this correct?

why dont it have a harness. u need to have a obd2b harness. gsr ecu will only work if u socket and chip it and burn map for the ls.

i bought the car as a shell so its literally "a shell" lol. so i need to find a harness out of another 99 civic hatchback your saying? and i should get the p06 ecu instead of a p72? i was planning on sending out whatever ecu i get to be reflashed anyways.Gunmetal Si;253237 wrote:why dont it have a harness. u need to have a obd2b harness. gsr ecu will only work if u socket and chip it and burn map for the ls.

You should be able to figure almost everything out from this. The correct ECU to use is a P75. If you use an OBD1 ECU, you'll need an OBD2B-OBD1 conversion harness.
