I drive a 1997 Honda civic with a d16 y8 SOHC i want to make the car fast and boost it but cant decide to swap for a b18 of keep what I have and boos that people keep telling me both any suggestions would be greatly appreciated Thanks
ether way its diffrent strokes for diffent folkes. Your Y8 has potential and is a great starting block. There are going to many replies and oppinions to this thread but only one counts....... Thats yours.
y8 are good if like to spin rod bearings. if your wanting to stay d series pick up a z6 and build it. all depends on what you want. if want to swap an ls in there and boost it do that
i may not be "logical" but at least i can change my oil...
Like they say it's hard to replace displacement...so I'd think you'd be better off with the b18...the only downside would be b series parts can be a little more expensive unless you buy used or know somebody that can hook you up lol

positive displacement can replace more displacement.

id think the other. my old turbo d setup with a stock y8 did about 160whp and the same on torque and took my car into the 13's. i dont know of a stock b series swap that can do that.
but then again, he hasnt stated what is "fast" and to him 13's may not be fast.
