15400-PCX-004 FILTER, OIL (TOYO ROKI) $9.46 s2000

If someone goes to a honda dealership ask them for the 15400-PR3-004 and see what they say.

probably something along the lines or " a 15400 what? "

im ok il just stick to my fram or stp or what ever the hell i feel like useing at the time the one on it now is white and i dont know where it came from or what brand it is i change the oil to much to care and did you really think posting a pick of bisi's motor was going to change anything? i love this site but most of the people on here do not drag race so most (not all) dont know who tony palo or bisi are.

well not really recommend per say....but they just have no problem using them...just like me.
SilverStreak;151664 wrote:Doesn't change the fact that they're not made for a Honda motor.
the ph3593a is indeed made for a honda.
SilverStreak;151664 wrote:They aren't the same. Internally, yes. But externally, no. And its not about the color, its the gasket.
yea like i already stated i find it funny how everyone started out hating the internals of a fram and now its all about the external and the o-ring now that they realize the internals of their beloved honda filter is the exact same as a fram LOL...you guys are too much!

man this thing is at 9 pages already. who cares if you have heard people had problems with fram. i have had a guy tell me royal purple will blow your engine cuz his buddy put it in his car and then the engine blew up. does that make it true? no. or how about you cant switch from synthetic oil back to non synthetic or it will blow up your engine does that make it true? if i have a problem with a particular filter il stop using it. whether it be fram or walmart brand or some other cheap brand. until then i will buy and use whatever the auto store here has.

Honda part numbers are:

15400-plm-a02 made for civics, accords, etc-made by honeywell in canada
15400-pcx-004 made for s2k's-made by filtech in usa
15400-pl2-315 made for ?????-made in japan by???

The first two are compatible in gasket size, but the last one might be for some other s2k's or isuzu's and has a bigger gasket.

That that specific model filter is made by honeywell, not honda.

15400-PL2-004 use to be the "tall" nsx filter until it was discontinued and replaced with the the new 15400-pl2-315 "short" filter....which was also later superseded by 15400-pl2-505. alot of nsx owners were not happy but they found a replacement..

as far as i know...as of today.. there are 4 oem honda oil filters.

1. 15400-PA6-506 - some of the pre 1988 civics, accords, and preludes which had larger screw bore sizes. (not 100% sure on this part # and dont know much about these)

2. 15400-PLM-A02 (AKA fram) - ALL 1988 and newer civic, accord, prelude, integra, odyssey, element, rl, tl, cl, vigor, mdx, rsx, del sol, crx, crv, pilot, etc..you get the point. (and even some of the honda power equipment! lol)

3. 15400-PCX-004 - s2000 filter. was made by toyo roki of japan and now by filtech i believe.

4. 15400-pl2-505 - new "short" nsx filter.

everything else has already either been discontinued or superseded. there are a ton of old part numbers.
