I kno that cams are a huge part to N/A motors and yet i also know that you can't just upgrade the cams by themselves and assume more power. or can you? i was thinking about a power upgrade like this package i found. http://www.modacar.com/products/Acura/Integra/SCIPP04/Skunk2+Civic-Integra+Powe.html
SO i have heard that skunk 2 is pretty good dealer, and is this package decent? if i dont' go with the package, is it a good idea to replace my stock retainers/springs and cam gears when replacing and upgrading the cams.
thanks

aem cai+bpi velocity stack
good header, profab/hytech/smsp
good exhaust
than fuel management+tuning'
still want more than id looking into a head package and some larger cam's, how-ever i personally would go with supertech valve train', skunk2 makes good products i just think there are better products availible for the money
are we talking about a stock gsr motor here? need more information on your set-up'

dont get aem CAI, they are woorthless, get Comptech Icebox... that has best hp gains out of any intake plus it looks stealth..
but ya Ditigal sol laid it all out for you... you can always up grade the clutch and throw in short shiffter too for good measure..

For the most part, its is always recommended to upgrade valve springs when getting upgraded cam/cams. And adjustable cam gears will definitely help with tuning, especially w/ S2 Stage 2's.Teg-Potential wrote:SO i have heard that skunk 2 is pretty good dealer, and is this package decent? if i dont' go with the package, is it a good idea to replace my stock retainers/springs and cam gears when replacing and upgrading the cams.

WRONG as rob and Richie both stated BPI stack and short ram intake OWN allxslickwhitetegx;124929 wrote:dont get aem CAI, they are woorthless, get Comptech Icebox... that has best hp gains out of any intake plus it looks stealth..
makes the most PROVEN HP track and dyno

why a short throw and a clutch wont make any more HP so they are a waste of money UNLESS they are badxslickwhitetegx;124929 wrote: but ya Ditigal sol laid it all out for you... you can always up grade the clutch and throw in short shiffter too for good measure..

eh i forgot about the 3" tubing but like a whole .25" will make a huge diffrence in the tubing!
i'd still go w/ comptech anyways, next your going to tell me whale penis actually has some function to it, instead of the "look" value... Jokin

Ok... well actually i'm runnin the stock ls motor with Injen SRI. is my only real power adder. (have a short shifter installed already) Clutch is solid for now. I just figured i would go for internals since like a DC header and greddy exhaust won't add much for HP?? i kno a race header will but i don't think i'm down to deal with that hassle of trying to trick the emissions testing and what not. and is hondata still a decent ecu? about a year ago i was looking at a Hondata s200. and i'm lookin to get the most bang for my buck (~1500-2000). But don't wanna just slap some shit on there to get some great power for like a week. trying to do it right and keep the acura reliability.

In my opinion n/a is a waste of time. Cost can get as high as a simple turbo setup.Teg-Potential;125027 wrote:Ok... well actually i'm runnin the stock ls motor with Injen SRI. is my only real power adder. Look into ectune either way to get it tuned, probably the best rom tuning program out there.

Yes, its does make a difference. Its a plus to experiment with different size and lengths of piping on the dyno to get the best results. Either way, the end result is much better then the Comptech intake.xslickwhitetegx;125014 wrote:eh i forgot about the 3" tubing but like a whole .25" will make a huge diffrence in the tubing!

true that NA is expensive.. but for the simple things like exhaust/ecu header all can be replaced and prob should be before u go turbo. so exhaust and ecu and header is more like a base rather than going either N/A or F/I
.... and ECtune? ok ill chekc it out thanks
