true that, when tuning the cavalier, it was running rich, so he just kept turning the knob until it leaned out a bit, pretty convenient if you ask me(his is ran into the car). remember, youre never too rich, you just need more boost!:rambo:

if cheap is waht you're looking for then i'd suggest a manual boost controller. some of the good ones like hallman or turboxs (high performance variant) are very accurate and do not cause boost spikes.

the advantage with electronic, say the apexi avc-r, is you can have gear dependent boost. this way you can tune it to give you less boost and therefore more traction in first, then full boost in 2nd - 5th gears.

general rule is not to boost more than 2x the wastegate spring. so if its a 7psi spring, don't go over 14psi total. good luck

im running a greddy profec B. I like it alot, easy to adjust the settings you have a low boost and high boost knob set both where you want them and you can switch back and fourth between the two with the push of a button.

im using a hallman pro rx manual boost controller (ceramic ball and lighter spring for high psi). the best mbc there is hands down. using it in conjunction with i think a 12psi wastegate spring and it shoots to 25psi and STAYS RIGHT THERE until redline.

i personally dont care for electronic boost controllers. id much rather use the honda ecu to control boost such as in hondata s300 where it has boost by gear and such. neptune and ectune probably has this also.
