The most its doing is letting hot air out of the engine bay.4drman;227179 wrote:Hood scoop worked on my old intake (which is on the passenger side, you must of had the sun in your eyes) that I just took out because I upgraded to the famous whale dong. But it still brings nice fresh air to that compartment. I like my lights all the way around so I think I`ll keep them, but maybe that`s why I bought them.

When a large object is moving fast it punches a hole in the air. Ever seen a car in a wind tunnel with the smoke. Most cars have a dead spot over the hood and at the base of the back window. A functional scoop would 1. be higher than that 2. seal to the filter, no just dump air in the general location of the filter.{or intercooler}

It has one opening only and is closed on all other sides. Its main function is to allow a direct flow of air to the engine, hence the need for it to be upraised so as to effectively channel air to the engine compartment, and thus to enhance performance in several possible ways. So yes it does serve a purpose and does work.
