i think we should get like everyone from different groups involved. Like people from this site, local scikotics, StlG35.com, Stlsr (idk anyhing about that site)... etc. Maybe we can do like a $15 registration and make a car show out of it, serve some BBQ. Give away some trophys. Im willing to shell out some out of pocket dough to make flyers or so, especially if its going towards a good cause. It wouldnt be hard finding sponsors either. Im sure i can get sponsers to help out too.

That would be awesome thanks!SlowOne.5;179103 wrote:ok well i have 1000's of flyers, promo cards, free tans, discount cards, lotion samples, etc. i also have tons of jiffy lube, firestone, dobbs discount cards, and i even have country club, buffalo wild wings, jiffy lube gift cards we can raffle for.
i have contacts with damn near every auto place in OFallon now, so i can grab all sorts of things for this.
Maybe even if a certain company wants to pay like $25 for a "booth" type thing to set up and promote their company?
I def want to get a lot more boards involved. I figured I would just start here to see how it would go and what people thought about it. Get ideas out there to then send it out to all the other boards.WierdAznDude;179108 wrote:i think we should get like everyone from different groups involved. I think a car show would be great, I might even look into maybe some bigger churches that would be willing to let us use their property for this event. I'm not sure if I would have to go through the city to set something big like that up at a park or not.

I think a big parking lot should do. Parks seems complicated.99preludesh;179112 wrote:That would be awesome thanks!

Instead of us handling the BBQ and trying to roll with unknown number of people or whatever. If this gets to a point where we have a group of forums participating and a potential big turnout. Maybe give one of the VFW's a call to do the BBQ stand like they do for other car shows. VFW's then make a couple dollars (its not much cause they are very reasonable on prices but still), BBQ is provided (good bbq burgers mmmm), and the cost/ work load to organizers would be reduced and refocused into other things.
The big thing has to be drawing people in, even just random people to walk through maybe picking a place that visable might be a good idea. They walk through, look at car, grab some bbq, maybe paticipate in the donations/ raffles/ etc.
Just brain storming out load here.
I would think we need to get the details generally worked out how big you want this to be and the location... then start involving other boards and their admins.

I think VFW would be so much better then guessing how many people will show, plus one less thing to worry about.
What area should we do this in?

good call. i'd try and shoot for a more centrally located hall for everyone though. something that's accessible for all counties w/in a time frame of 10-15min drive time.twkdcd595;179122 wrote:Instead of us handling the BBQ and trying to roll with unknown number of people or whatever. maryland heights seems to be about the area that is dead center for everyone. i'm not sure where the hall is there, though.

OK, well I took a week off to re-coop w/ some things, so I'm headed out the door to start grabbing items from auto shops around here. I know it's way early, but w/ my insane work schedule this is probably the only chance I'll get. I'll check back later w/ an update so we can get a head's up with what we can offer to the public.

yeah i was liking the forest park area... cause i mean its right off of the parkway and thats a pretty easy place to get every one to.... as far asvfw... that sounds cool... but like others said we have to get big numbers of people drawn in and have somthing to apeal to those ppl who may not usually come out to these things

Sounds good I have talked to a few people I know that could get us some things donated.SlowOne.5;179138 wrote:OK, well I took a week off to re-coop w/ some things, so I'm headed out the door to start grabbing items from auto shops around here. I think we need to keep focusing on making this an ALL car type thing. Probably promoting it just as a "charity car event" so its not just focused on just one vehicle type.nomocars23;179148 wrote:yeah i was liking the forest park area... cause i mean its right off of the parkway and thats a pretty easy place to get every one to.... as far asvfw... that sounds cool... but like others said we have to get big numbers of people drawn in and have somthing to apeal to those ppl who may not usually come out to these things
