Charity event help

Post by 99PreludeSh »

Chad and I were talking and we think a big bbq for all boards to raise money for a charity would be a good idea. It wouldn't be for another few months because I would really like it to be a huge event where anyone is welcome and raise a good amount of money for a charity.

If you have any ideas or want to help with this let me know. ANY HELP IS WELCOME. I would also like to try and see if places would donate things, such as gift certificates coupons for free things and such, for the event so it wouldn't have to be as much money out of our pockets.

Any ideas are welcome please keep this thread clean and drama free, it's for a good cause. If you guys have any specific charities in mind let me know and I will look into them or make a poll and see which one everyone wants.

So far Chad and I have come up with 2 places which are Creve Cour Park and Queeny Park.

Great idea to post up and get more suggestions Steph!

Post up your suggestions, thoughts, etc... we talking how it would be good to have a meet of some sort to bbq, kick rocks, whatever. Steph said lets do something for charity and make it something that will help a good cause as well.

So please chime in, its nothing in stone by any means is the point of this... as much we can let this be a soundboard for possible interest in this and if so ideas on when, where, how, etc.

Other good charities I can think of right off the top (not that any are less or more important than others)... Breast Cancer and Disabled Veterans charities spring to mind.

Also even for our currently serving service men and women we could organize a donation of items to be sent to a charity that sends them overseas. I am sure they would appreciate getting sent magazines, cds, letters, etc that give them a little comfort from home... and these items are easy for us to get.

if charities don't work(don't see why it wouldn't, but ya know if it can't), i say we pitch in product, services, etc.

alot of us on here have our own businesses, are managers, are getting ready to start businesses, do specialty work, etc. we can promote ourselves at this event by giving out flyers, cards, discounts for our products/services. if not ourselves, who you work for would LOVE that you set out their info(car related of course).

IE: the guy that applies vinyl(sorry forgot name), tommy w/ his fender rolling skills, tom and steph w/ their bodywork, steph-aren't you wanting to open your studio?-promote it. me w/ my salon at least will target the girl groupies w/ their bf's, and anyone else that i don't know of/didn't mention.

we'd be showing cars and helping ppl as well. at the same time we could be taking donations for the charity.

just an idea to add. i like the charity event though.

Maybe set up some sort of area for anyone to bring anything for the soldiers. I know most car people have tons of magazines just laying around that they want to get rid of.
