to B, or not to B?
heh, I'm a huge B-series guy, and I'm here talking you out of going that route. an Hf with a soch vtec swap will be good for a 15sec. car assuming you have the basic supporting bolt ons. a d16z6 or y8 will be just fine for you.

IMO, the SOHC VTEC swap is easier then the ZC swap. You don't have to convert to OBD1 if you don't want to.big pipe;37713 wrote:would the sohc vtec be a better swap than a zc?

I'm not going to get into a B over D fight. Price is the only thing D series has. Otherwise B series can stomp it in all other categories.budget_crx;37683 wrote:at least on price

well this is hard one
i love all the motors you asked but im thinking the zc, d16a6, d16z6. for the price i'd stay with those motors i have three b16 and there getting price i'd stay away for them. dont get me wrong i love the b series but i think a turbo d16 is the best bang for your buck

It is for the power to money its the best route. I only have a bseries bc my old car came with it. If I didnt have the bseries i would be a turbo d person. But gl on whatever you decide to do.evoman33;37760 wrote:i love all the motors you asked but im thinking the zc, d16a6, d16z6. for the price i'd stay with those motors i have three b16 and there getting price i'd stay away for them. dont get me wrong i love the b series but i think a turbo d16 is the best bang for your buck

the d16 vtec is still a harder swap than a zc just because you dont have to wire up the vtec, plus the ZCs are already OBD0 so you wont have to worry about that either. I personally love the ZCs, and have spanked more than a few sohc vtecs with it back when it was stock. Out of experience i would highly recomend the zc, but either way you are getting about the same amount of power. so basically, either one you pick will give you what you want.big pipe;37730 wrote:REALLY!?!?

one wire vtec.
you can get a ps9 ecu and use the torque converter lockup signal for vtec or use a pm6 and use the ac relay for vtec.
