brake lights staying on..

Post by zrs6v4 »

I have been out of town for a week, got home and drove the crx around for a couple of hours and parked it. I took my integra to work and came home a few hours later and my brake lights were on. I thought I left my lights on, but no and it wasnt a fuse either. I also check to see if the peddle was stuck or something but didnt seem to be so I unhooked the battery and left it alone. I cant figure the problem out, I was thinking of a pinched wire, a peddle switch(not sure, just told to check), or the problem is due to my master cylinder leaking a little.. anyone have any suggestions on what to look for? Oh and another thing is I had a 99 prelude where the tail light fuse kept popping b/c of some wiring in the cd player, I just put a new cd player in 2 weeks ago so Im thinking that could be the problem as well, but I am not sure.. thanks

Sounds like a stuck brake light switch or a short in the system.

totally stupid question, but is the fluid full, or at least at the minimum line?

check that switch on your brake pedal....had the same problem on an old prelude and had to screw with that switch to get it to work but if it's not that then start tracing wires...
