black trash bag on the rear window leave it in the heat "sunlight"
lay something on the inside of the car so u dont get it messy
windex will work soak the window... try and peal it a little in the corner and spary it there let it set..
go back to it a while later after sitting in the heat..
try and peal if it starts coming keep sparying as u peal it will help eat the glue.. u need the windex and heat for it to work

I'd get the tint residue hot with a heat gun or by parking the car outside on a hot summer day. Then peal the tint off. Then I'd carefully use a razor blade to scrape off the residue between defrost strips and use WD40 to remove the residue on the strips themselves. It will leave a greasy residue but it'll come right off.

Thats what I've done several times in the past and the rear defrost has always worked.

I 2nd the windex and trashbag. Just soak the tint on rear window with windex cover the inside of the window with black trashbag. Park in the sun for 20 or 30 mins or untill the window is hot. And the tint peals right off. Dont use a razor youll mess up the rear defroster. And DO NOT use a heat gun on your window. lol you wont have one when your done
