coilovers how do they affect the car?

doesn't look in spec to me :dunno:
i put my 2 cents in and with my experince of lowering with coilovers it is worth it to spend the extra money for a camber kit. I wouldn't lower any car without being able to adjust the camber, wether or not it is already in spec. I dunno, maybe i just like to play it safe when it comes to handling :dunno: gl lil burnz

i thought a little camber is good for traction? I think most auto-x guys run a little negative camber. Either way, camber doesn't chew up tires like toe does. If your toe is set to 0, a little negative camber should not be anything to be too worried about. I use a skunk2 camber kit up front on my car and still have a little negative camber and don't have any problems w/ handling or pre-mature tire wear.

Actually thats the angle of the picture I have another picture at my parents house and the camber,caster,toe,ASI,and IA is and WAS all in specs. There is absolutely nothing wrong with my angles and my car has been lowered 4 years.
So no a camber kit is not needed if your car is in specs.
Why fix something if its not broken?
You have a half degree tollerence between both sides and most camber kits will only give you about 1 degree adjustment. Dropping your car inch-2 inches wont hurt camber really at all.
Also if your camber is off 3* most likely you have bent parts, bent strut, bent steering knuckle can all cause your camber to be off, and also if your sub frame is shifted your camber can be off.

toe eats tires not camber if you go 1.5-2" you wont even need a camber kit, just get it aligned and make sure the toe and thrust angle are within spec and all should be good...

the tire wearing angles are toe and camber. to much negative camber wears the inside of the tire yet gives you better handling on turns. to much pos camber wears the outside of the tire. toe wears the entire tire. it puts a feathered edge into the tread. what i would do sence you get alignments for free, put the coilovers on and lower it where you want it to sit. align it and if you need the kit order it. your tires should be fine even lowered by the time you get the camber kit delivered.

TOE=Fethered
CAMBER=HORRIBLE TIRE WEAR WHEN EXTREMELY NEGATIVE
CASTER=CAN ALSO WEAR TIRES, IT IS VERY RARE THOUGH
and to say your front camber is -1.7 degrees, is ludacris. you always have 2 seperate measurements. if you mean total camber, that is possible. if your brother works at NTB, then he will have access to cam bolts, which are relatively cheap. they install in the place of your stock upper strut bolt hole. it is kind of oval instead of perfectly round, you can normally get up to 2 to 3 degrees out of one. my car is lowered 1.7 f and r, my camber is barely out of spec on my passenger side, in spec on my driver side, so i did not mess with it. negative camber helps you corner, you have to find a happy medium between handling and tire wear. an alignment check where i work is 12 dollars. that is with the best machine in the world, and yes that is a fact. BAM, im done.:motorbike:

I lowered my 97 gsr with tein s tech springs and tokico struts and got it alligned, I drove a lot and a lot of back road curve driveing and had horrible tire wear on the inside, I threw on a camber kit in the front and got it realligned and it was fine. I would say I went through a set of front tires in like 10k miles because the inner part of the tire would wear out. I could be wrong or could have had a bad allignment but I suggest from my experience with it just to be safe that you buy a front camber kit..
