So I got my stock stereo out and got my new pioneer premier headunit in and now my keyless entry doesnt work.
How do I get my keyless entry to work with an aftermarket headunit??

you need a t harness to get it to work correctly, plus depending on which radio you have .. you might need to remove part of the radio and keep it in the car99civicsi/stchuck;239883 wrote:So I got my stock stereo out and got my new pioneer premier headunit in and now my keyless entry doesnt work.

hmmm. I was thinking that was phased out in the 99-00 models. I guess my memory is not as good as it used to be.

It was phased out in the 99-00. The keyless entry isn't tied into the radio and dome light like it was with the 96-98. I had no problem buying a regular wiring harness from Best Buy and putting in an after market head unit. Are you sure you have a real Si or is a 96-98 Civic that was converted to look like a 99-00 Civic Si?

96-98 had the keyless module built into the radio. 99-00 they moved it to under the dash on the driver side instead. 96-98, the factory security module (Alpine) was mounted in the recess on the top of the radio. 99-00, they put it on a bracket under the driver side of the dash.
Glad you got it figured out. Crazy how some things happen at the same time and make you think it's something else...
