The four channel amp is usually a good idea if your really looking for good sound. If you just wanting to add depth you should be alright with just a sub and no amp on the speakers. I plan on doing both but i also get a killer discount from my work.

I'd say this. If your going to go with kenwood (awesome deal btw) you most likely will not need the 4 channel amp on your speakers. If you go with type r's you may find that all you can hear in your car is bass, which annoys the hell out of me because it doesn't sound good.

Viper alarms are also really nice. If you just looking for sercuity, its like N2hifi said, around 200 bucks with install.

well i suppose ill listen to you two since im clueless on audio. This is going in a 00 grand am that im gonna be driving to school and stuff so i thought id throw audio stuff in it.Since there shitty speaker sizes i did alpine type s 4x6 in front and alpine type s 6x9 in rear.I know i could have did better but there cheap and i didnt feel like dragging it out searching.Im not really looking for a really hard bass hit but i do want it to hit pretty nice.Even though i really dont wanna do this but i think i may just use my apos alpine 9827 in my room with the kca420 i adapter just to save money and give me more money to work with for the viper alarm.

also I know custom sounds sells their wires for a very expensive rate. To run those you'll probably need 8 gauge wiring. Best buy has some for 64.99. so keep that in mind when your comparing that
