Oil pressure switch not hooked up or broken? The ECU only primes the fuel pump so the vehicle can start. After that, the oil pressure switch keeps the pump running. I'd give you more explanations but I'm guessing this is the problem....

first I would check to see if its hooked up, then test resistance on the line from the sensor to the ECU. If thats all good, I would the the voltage specs of the sensor itself and test it.MaSSaCrE;189401 wrote:do you know of any way to figuring out if thats it without changing it out

The oil pressure switch keeps the fuel pump circuit grounded throught the Oil pressure switch. You could potentially just jump the switch. Look at the wiring diagram and figure it out.MaSSaCrE;189401 wrote:do you know of any way to figuring out if thats it without changing it out

Alright thanks. All else fails ill prob just 350 swap and save myself from spending a few hundred in injectors, new sensors, distributor, and all that. Ill try the first few most expected things then if nothing works, swap.

And if all else fails swap it out? You have the WORST shotgun apporach of a mechanic. Good luck tossing on parts.MaSSaCrE;189414 wrote:Alright thanks. So whoever feels like helping knows the car stopped starting on its own. If i constantly poor gas or fluids in the tb it will remain running but as soon as i stop feeding it to the car it dies. I can rev it up while someone poors gas in and sounds like it runs good no problems there.

well either way along the lines im swapping a 350 in because 305's just dont have any power to me but i guess that my personal opinion. So why spend that amount of money on parts to get it running when im 350 swapping either way it would just be nice to be driving it for a little and save some money up for a nicer motorandyjt;189415 wrote:And if all else fails swap it out? What kind of car is it? Does it have a Pass-Key system?
