I will roll with cheap wheels for the rest of my life....unless I win the lottery.

90% of you people on here don't have a reason for a "real wheel"....other than to say you have a real wheel.

I won't argue the fact that volk type wheels are better wheels though.

if rota made forged wheels they would be as expensive as the other brands, wouldnt make sense. they would lose their niche and everyone would have to buy expensive "real" wheels. who cares this isnt an argument over safety or which is better, whether its forged or cast they both have to pass safety standards they are both perfectly fine for street use. all anybody is worried about is brand name, if you have $2000 to burn on a set wheels, good for you! i dont, im perfectly fine with my $500 set of rotas and feel completely safe driving around on them.

I can agree with this, for most people it's all about name. I obviously didn't buy mind for the name because 98% of the people I know haven't heard of Autoart. I have some cheap Nippons on my 240 and I'm fine with that lol In the end it's what you are intending on using the wheel for ie: show, track, dd etc.

I didn't post the video. He'll really need those forged wheels for the serious hard parking in that boat of his.

So why don't you go take pictures of it or something..? thats all you're good for.

I don't recall saying if you buy knock offs, you're a (Insert insult here)... It was a video stating the quality of wheels.

Hell I have 2 sets of cast TL wheels. I know about the problems with these wheels that Enkei makes. 1 out of the 8 is already fucked up. Just needs straightening, but all wheels bend if hit correctly.

I'm about to buy a set of Work Eurolines in the next month or so and they are bent, but it's an easy fix. Nothing is perfect and if you want good quality, you gotta pay some good money. It's all personal preference.

I'm not saying throw $2,000 wheels on a $500 Civic or anything like that, but enjoy what you buy but maybe save up a little longer and wait a little longer to buy some better quality wheels than to get the "look" you want that will have less quality to it as well like I stated before.

This post wasn't to get people cunt hurt or anything, it was just an informational video.

I know Josh, the Eurolines will be sick. If you can afford them, get em. Especially if you're wanting decent fitment. Not a lot of replica wheels have ideal fitment.

I'm just living within my means, I don't make a great paycheck so I buy things I can afford and still be able to do something I love. I just put my money towards more important things.

Erik, I understand man. I was in your same shoes and I know what it was like. I'm not hating on you or anyone at all.

I never said knock off parts are this or that... it was just a video I found on a website and shared it on here.

Interesting to see the testing... makes me gasp when they drop that test weight on the real wheels.
JustRob;258902 wrote:Unfortunately, many replica wheels are copies of a wheel that is no longer produced.

As long as the wheel meets JWL and VIA standards, safety shouldn't be a concern. As stolle said, it's just comparing a cast wheel to a forged wheel. All wheels have their limits. And I'm sure if you put an OEM wheel to that test, it would crack just as easy.
Exactly, I would wait for a set of Racing Hart CP-035r's for my car... but it would be a LONG wait. So knockoffs are my only choice for that style and they are cheap too which never hurts. I also rock my 5th gen accord ex OEM wheels still alot, love the sleeper look of them. Have a second set of 4th gen prelude vtec OEM wheels too I need to put to use as well.

Sometime I may invest in a set of Volks for my car if I have the extra money to spend one day, cause I definately do have a soft spot for them but for now the CP-035r knock off 17" rotas I have serve their purpose well.
