I've never had a Beaks so i wouldn't know, i've only had ASR's.IshbOO;240341 wrote:I highly suggest stay away from this beaks kit. I've only heard horror stories. A buddy of mine on Teamintegra had that and basically threw it away for how shitty it fitted., and hes a machinest himself, and fabricates alot of his parts.

page 33 if that doesnt seem to work.
BSQ kit is only 20 shipped, and would be suffice. Rather than 65 for the beaks.
Although the website for the bsq kit is down now, I think his email is bretq@yahoo.com If your looking into getting one.
But yeah it's awsome you are doing you're own fabrication on that part, it looks good, and saved you some money. I'm sure you won't put your car threw that kind of stress to damage it, but becareful! :w00t:

it is pretty thin wanna say 18
any thicker and the bolts would not be long enough
and they make grade 8+ any size washers at rural king
grade 8>aluminum
i could also weld a peice to tie em together but that kit just makes it so you can mount the itr sway and doesent prevent ripping the nuts out of the subframe

Don't take this the wrong way.....but your oem subframe is much stronger than a piece of straight metal that thin (if it is indeed, 18 gauge). I doubt it is making any difference at all. If you do go thin, you could add some lightening holes to make it stronger.

its not supposed to make a difference it is soley there because the itr sway dont fit on the stock mounts fool obviously
let me repeat so its clear
it is not supposed to ass support or rigidity it is just so i could fit the itr sway on the car
i will however say that it is probly better than that beaks bullshit

So what your saying here is that you posted this to start a fight because that shit is way to thin to make a difference in the feel and handling of your car?Capt'n Obvious;240364 wrote:its not supposed to make a difference it is soley there because the itr sway dont fit on the stock mounts fool obviously

well the sway bar was a big diff over the oem 13mm
how am i starting a fight
i dont think you guys understand that it would not mount to my stock mounts
and still i did not make the adapter plate to provide any bracing or rigidity it is just so i can mount the sway bar on my car
but i dont see how it would flex the metal is thicker than the oem brackets it is bolted to and the sway bar mounts real close to where it is bolted
also 1 where would i find a similar size peice of steel on the fly 2 i already told you guys the bolts are not long enough for a thicker peice
basicly been pushing it to the limit or as much as my neogens will handle every day for the past 3 weeks and the suframe is still intact
and im going to say after thinking bout it for a few weeks that it does help prevent my subframe from breaking

I had no problem going out and buying longer METRIC bolts at the local ACE hardware store... Home Depot and Lowes don't carry much METRIC anything. And yes, you should be able to get new hardware to use on this DIY setup since ASR sends new hardware as well with their setups...
And what is your idea of "pushing it to the limit"... Street roads with street / back road corners? Or track days and getting to take your car around a hard corner doing 50+ mph...
I think for fun, we need to have an autocross day and see what happens

the oem subframe is curved and, more or less, makes a box like structure when it is welded to the floor. Your plate is like a diving board....thin and long. You may not see it bend much on the car because it is bolted down. But I bet I can bend that into a U, by hand, without much troubleCapt'n Obvious;240378 wrote:
