rolls eyes
just like how my lcas broke because i drilled a hole in em to mount my swaybar on 3 of my cars like yall said lol
and how my wheel studs snaped like you guys said they would lol
and how the top of my struts broke off because of my strut bar like you guys said lol
and how my studs rusted because my lugnuts did not cover em like you guys said lol
or how because i drilled an tapped my subframe to mount my rear sway the mounts riped out like you guys said they would lol
do i need to go on?
you guys think you need to spend money for shit you dont need because you guys are swayed by marketing gimmicks
also if i did not mount it this way how else could i have mounted it
another thing to think about is why would honda mount their rear sways there stock if it was a weak point

The sub-frames are different on hondas with a factory swaybars.....usually.
I guarantee that metal can/does flex. It "looks" thin.
And if you put pictures of your work online....good or bad, people will give their opinions.
And if you think this site is "harsh".....put your stuff on honda-tech's weld/fab forum.

The ASR also functions as a tie bar, thats why its expensive and its all big and pretty. What you have is purely a large adapter plate, which seems a bit excessive. Unfortunately I doubt it will supply much reinforcement because it doesnt have the little pieces that go behind the frame like on ASR's. What you should've gotten was the Beaks kit. Its a subframe reinforcement kit that doesnt incorporate a tie bar like the ASR does.

Either way, it takes a lot of stress to rip that shit out.

I didn't say it would be bent.
I said that the metal flexes.
And I'm pretty sure the asr would take a lot more before it flexes.
You never answered how thick it was.

lol these parts such as the ASR subframe brace are developed by engineers. People who do the math. They are that thick for a reason, they connect all those certain parts, for a reason. And you really think putting a 22mm rear sway on an old Si is smart..., for what purpose? engineers made those OEM rear sway bars smaller for a reason. Your gonna put a rear sway from an ITR on a daily commute car like that old civic... And thats why engineers made the ASR subframe brace, for a reason. not for marketing gimmick purposes and looks. I'm not saying that your adapter wont hold up for DD. But If you autocross and shit, I'm sure it wont.

The Beaks kit provides reinforcement from both the front and the backside of the mounting points. Loads are distributed over a large area, which helps reduce the stress and effectively prevents sheet metal failure.
The only reason why yours will "do the job" is because you wont subject your car to hard enough driving conditions and stress to even constitute a 22mm sway bar, let alone rip apart your subframe.

I highly suggest stay away from this beaks kit. I've only heard horror stories. A buddy of mine on Teamintegra had that and basically threw it away for how shitty it fitted., and hes a machinest himself, and fabricates alot of his parts.eh2_Erik;240317 wrote:The ASR also functions as a tie bar, thats why its expensive and its all big and pretty. page 33 if that doesnt seem to work.
BSQ kit is only 20 shipped, and would be suffice. Rather than 65 for the beaks.
Although the website for the bsq kit is down now, I think his email is bretq@yahoo.com If your looking into getting one.
But yeah it's awsome you are doing you're own fabrication on that part, it looks good, and saved you some money. I'm sure you won't put your car threw that kind of stress to damage it, but becareful! :w00t:
