The problem with the stockers is there isn't much material to grab onto with pliers or a wrench and of you don't hold onto it then it will just spin as you try to remove the nut. As far as the grill I honestly think its worth it as you will have more difference between you and a base model. And I think our grill is an eye sore. If your doing the lowering springs then I flat out advise the Fe5s as people have had some issue with the stock Fe1/3 endlinks when lowering. As far as the nightshades go I've messed around with it on some old turn signals from my supra. And while it looks decent its just far too much work for me for the results I want. If I ever go through with it I will have a paint shop professionally smoke and clear them. But nightshades can look decent if you clear it wetsand it and buff it.
Yeah i'll most likely throw the fe5s on at the same time, good advice. I may just take my grille's off until i have the extra $$ to get the grille kit, aka income tax refund lol.
I meant getting the impact wrench for the lowering springs also, cause my 1/4 inch 18v dewalt impact probably wont have enough tq to loosen much. Yeah our grills are hideous, so much for being a SPORT! Makes sense bc my friend when he bought his cobalt had to get a whole new strut bar and links, apparently the prev owner put eibachs on it.
I may look into the smoking of the tail lights later on, its always something for me to try out on a set of used ones.

With the new wheels. Im not liking them at all... But for the price I paid for 6 wheels and 5 tires I couldnt pass up the deal. The idea behind these is to run a 5mm spacer eventually with 255/35/18s and go with a more handling oriented suspension setup.

They will probably end up plastidipped black just to kill off some of the bling...

So honestly the wheels were a step backwards from my goals though they have the width for what I want to do. And they came with 95% tread Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3s on them. Just wish they were 40 series instead of the 35's... They are 225/35/18 and definitely dont have the sidewall id like as im not a fan of the rubber band look at all. But they do handle well. Today in the damp they were outperforming my Kumho spts when it was dry for the kumho's.

What i would probably do is go with having them painted bronze, or using wheel paint and doing it yourself. yeah if i find deals i usually rarely pass them up lol. i had a set of motegi 17s for 175 once. seeing how you already have the black, why not go bronze lol.

Not sure if bronze would look right on a cobalt. Dunno though I might just have the tires transferred over to my Ss/tc wheels and hold onto these for the tires I want.

Though I wouldn't mind doing the g5 gt rear end on the cobalt.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you.
Hope this helps

im more for making the rear look like a nissan gt-r.
shave the trunk and put led tails.
bronze would look great on a cobalt, especially a red one.

I want the ss/sc wheels. i love my wheels just wish they were bigger.

ill probably take out my grill today after work.
i have seen black versions of a 'billet' grill on ebay for our cars, but idk if that one or no grill or the tc grill is better. so far no luck finding one on ebay.

might be getting a set of black ccfl headlights and led tails from ebay pretty cheap.
If i do, I'll def not be buying anything with $$ from christmas lol

Are the halo's plug n play or do i need to hook em up to my parking lights?
the headlights are gen 4 also.

with the sway bar link for the ss 2.0 does it matter which brand you get?
I have napa in town, oreily's, autozone, and advance in belleville.

So all i'd need is the 05-08 FE5 sway bar link? not the whole sway bar right?

Im not a fan of the billet style grills. For me its TC or the one I have. But then again half of my car is tc stuff. So I might be biased.
On the headlights they should be. My gen 4's were. And I love my hid's. So much better with a decent projector. At some point I might do a full on retrofit though.

Correct. However moogs are the preferred brand. They are greaseable and heavy duty especially in comparison to the autozone ones.

People have done LED conversions to the rear lights and you can buy the outer ones already done.

Me personally I hate the rear of cobalts I think they look cheap. So if I ever catch a deal I will swap to a G5 GT rear end.

I fucking hate, hate, hate cobalts, but at least you are keeping it clean. Id say the car looked best with the 08 wheels unpainted, tho. Man, keep the mods light. I dont know about you but, ive never had so many problems with a new car. suspension recalls, power steering, window problems, hard downshifts,....... and the factory warranty barely covered anything. I will never buy an american economy car again. American automakers are failing in there general car lineups as of late imo.
