Yeah i'll most likely throw the fe5s on at the same time, good advice. I may just take my grille's off until i have the extra $$ to get the grille kit, aka income tax refund lol.Rich;279889 wrote:An impact would be easier. But not truly needed. The problem with the stockers is there isn't much material to grab onto with pliers or a wrench and of you don't hold onto it then it will just spin as you try to remove the nut. As far as the grill I honestly think its worth it as you will have more difference between you and a base model. And I think our grill is an eye sore. If your doing the lowering springs then I flat out advise the Fe5s as people have had some issue with the stock Fe1/3 endlinks when lowering. As far as the nightshades go I've messed around with it on some old turn signals from my supra. And while it looks decent its just far too much work for me for the results I want. If I ever go through with it I will have a paint shop professionally smoke and clear them. But nightshades can look decent if you clear it wetsand it and buff it.
I meant getting the impact wrench for the lowering springs also, cause my 1/4 inch 18v dewalt impact probably wont have enough tq to loosen much. Yeah our grills are hideous, so much for being a SPORT! Makes sense bc my friend when he bought his cobalt had to get a whole new strut bar and links, apparently the prev owner put eibachs on it.
I may look into the smoking of the tail lights later on, its always something for me to try out on a set of used ones.
