12/09 crx rebuild project

Post by rickles8099 »

So i ran out of cars to work on this saturday and i have had a crx sitting on the side of my house without and engine, transmission, brakes, exhaust, and other misc stuff and decided to put something into it. i decided that this is gonna be a budget build with building with stuff i can find around the house. i went to my garage and found an engine and transmission. i then went to my shed and found some piping, radiator, and fans. i gave my rear mount to jerren so i did have to go to the junkyard to get one of those. when i got back home, i pushed the crx into the garage and got started on it. this is whats done so far:

i ended up window welding the front and rear mounts because its a budget build and i had 1/2 a tube of window weld in the garage:

this next week im gonna see what kind of suspension parts i can find and put a suspension together and add brakes and an exhaust to it. probably gonna add an ecu too.

Nice. Looks like you got some stuff done! Looks like it could be a pretty fun budget build once it's done.

should be fun. nothing fancy, just a typical mid to high 13 second car.

my overall goal it to spend less than $150 on all parts. and thats with me allocating $100 for a set of springs.

What turbo you running there... adapter plate on a hf with a dsm terbooo?

Very nice!!! How much does the window welded mounts increase vibration? Which grade stuff did you use?

rhb5 turbo. i wouldnt go dsm turbo due to lack of reliability :)
window weld stuff doesnt add much to vibration, or at least shouldnt. its not acutal 3m window weld, just some stuff that i had laying around. the main goal wasnt really to decrease engine movement per harder mounts, intention was to fix the tears in the mounts by filling the holes.

yes its a stock motor. stock pistions, stock rods, original honda headgasket, stock head, stock cam, stock cam gear, stock water pump, stock oil pump, stock flywheel..... all engine internals are stock.
