ls/vtec, and your opinions of it.
Who's got it? Who's had it? Tell me everything you love/hate about it, how you went about it, and the results. Im trying to decide if I want to keep it just a ls, or go the vtec route. It will be turbo'd a little later down the road, and Im not worried about cost.

If your wanting to go boost and you already have the LS deff go LS/v. You get the torqy LS bottom end and the high flowing GSR head. When i go with a built bottom end there is no doubt in my mind im also going with the GSR head. I know Golden Eagle sells some kits for around 500 bucks I believe?

If youre not worried about cost, dont use a B series at all.
I had a 81.50mm LSV back in the day. I used a gsr head and P30 (b16a) pistons. I used GE's lsv kit. The head was far from stock. The car ripped ass. I loved it.
The only pain in the ass with it, is buying 93 octane all the time, imo.

if you do that just watch out because I'm pretty sure using a vtec head ups the compression ratio.

OH NOSE! Not moar compression!horn12007;264188 wrote:if you do that just watch out because I'm pretty sure using a vtec head ups the compression ratio.
Also, a GSR head will give you a few more points over a B16 head. Mine was in the low-mid 12's.
