But a fraction is just division.....why would a fraction vs division make any difference?2ksi;262060 wrote:try PEMDAS: Parenthesis, exponents, multiplecation, division, addition, and subtraction. the answer comes to 288. but it also depends on if it is a fraction, or a division sign. either answer would be right but if you use PEMDAS the answer will be 288. if in order of opperations, it will be 2.

48/2(9+3)=?
cause a fraction makes the denominator 2(9+3) which makes the denominator 24,Waffles;262061 wrote:But a fraction is just division.....why would a fraction vs division make any difference?
division makes it 288 cause then itd be done like step said.
the equation uses poor notation, its either or. i argue that its 2 cause to me the / implies its a fraction. so when i read it i read it as 48 over 2(3+9)
written like this,
48
2(9+3) = 48/24=2
like i said in almost all of my other posts in this thread, it all depends if the slash implies a fraction or if its an actual division sign.

division is no more than a fraction.....they are the same thing.sharpie;262063 wrote:cause a fraction makes the denominator 2(9+3) which makes the denominator 24,

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you.
Hope this helps
Yes I own 2 slow red chick cars & 1 real car!

true. but if you divide 48 by 2 first, then you would be going with the order of operations approach. then you would get you a different answer with order of operations rather then going with PEMDAS.Waffles;262061 wrote:But a fraction is just division.....why would a fraction vs division make any difference?
im getting confused with all this now. :tard:
