you could always test it with your own digital camera and see what it looks like through it and im sure it would resemble pretty close to what a traffic came would.

if you think about it, red light cameras are up high, so if you put thin louvers over the plate perpendicular and horizontal to the plates surface you could read it at ground level looking straight at it, but when you look at it from at an angle from up high, the louvers would block the plate making it illegible.
like this, from the side, think of the brackets as the license plate and the underscores as the louvers:
_
[ _
[ _ <see it from this direction...
[ _
[ _
...but when you look down on it all you see is the tops of the louvers.

holy shit! i thought of this looking at those stop signs out in the country, those side roads that come up to like two lane highways some of the stop signs have louvers or boxes around the letters so if you look at it from an angle you cant read the sign. why didnt i think of it sooner, lol...g-mo;233209 wrote:http://loover.com/

the loover idea is good, but you will get busted quick the first time you get pulled over. with the LEDs you can hide them in a frame.

plus this youtube guy is only showing how well it works when the cameras are in night mode. daytime is a whole different story. I'm kinda thinking that license plate frame spaced away from the plate with IR LEDs positioned to shine all over the plate might be enough to 'overexpose' the camera's view.stolle;233128 wrote:yeah tryed it with my phone digi still cam and digi camcorder, i could indeed see the led light up but not blinding like in the video. i would assume that some cameras are more sensitive than others and some leds brighter than others. what about covering the license plate with a piece of clear acrylic and back lighting it with infra red leds, the light would reflect off the acrylic and back off the license plate possibly masking the entire plate with a cover of infra red light, i think testing is the next step, lol...
I am fortunate enough to not have tons of cameras where I drive.
