i wasn't commenting on the title of the thread. i was commenting on your post...are you dumber than a pile of bricks? i was commenting on the fact that it doesn't take much other than intake, race header, exhaust, itr cams, kpro, and a good tune to reach a good power level that will put you deep into the 13's. your first post did not signify anything about swapping. just if you have deep pockets you can make a lot of power. its like that with any car.

props to you to on actually reading my post.

and fyi, yes i did read the thread before posting. all i read was blah blah blah.

to the OP, if you do decide to go the k24 route, you will not be sorry. it is a great honda engine to start with with decent torque. a few bolts on here and there and you will be very pleased with it. you could also spray it. these engines LOVE LOVE LOVE forced induction
sharpie;236647 wrote:Yeah maybe it if it was already in the car but he has to buy a whole swap and then build it
duh. again as stated before, please define build. these are not the b-series engines you guys are always working on. you don't need stage "x" cams or internals to reach great power levels with k-series. :)

Allex, you are informing me of nothing I didn't know. On the K20 in the newer Si's... with a after market header, 3" exhaust, a set of Go Power Stage 3 cams and a reflash on K pro... it pulled out 50+ whp and 25+ ft/lbs.

You make more power on a K series with small bolt ons than on a B series any day.

Now it will cost a lot to drop in a K series into a chassis that doesn't already have it. My initial post with the "K SWAP" meaning that the chassis doesn't ALREADY have the engine in it and it would need to be swapped in.

So roughly $7K to swap it in, going off the cost that Phate was selling all of his K swap stuff for, and that isn't including the upgraded cams and head work which might put it closer to $8.5K after tuning.

All in all... a K swap will yield more power and more fun over all in my head, if you are on a budget and just want to have quick power, then go the route of the turbo B and call it a day.

Just throwing this out there... has anyone seen the build by Endyne lately about the "fun" b series in his EF hatch?

272 whp and 186 ft/lbs...
