I got a new toy too (it's also not a honda)

Post by Spork »

some friends of the family needed to get it moved quick and made us an offer we really couldn't resist... I spent the day driving it around on sunday to let the motor breathe a little (it has sat for 2 months) and it's pretty fun to drive. It has plenty of imperfections and quirks, but I think I can sort most of it out

sorry for the crappy pic, I'll get it cleaned up and post more sometime soon. (and ignore my autistic neighbor Tom in the back, he was telling us how to convert it to steam power... if we wanted to)

the last emissions/inspection stickers are for 03... so we are going to wait 3 weeks to get it inspected and registered. no more emissions FTW!

I'm going to basically clean it up and do all of the maintenance stuff it needs(spark plugs, oil change, flush the rear end and fix a slight leak, and clean/replace fuel injectors) then go from there. the seats need to be recovered and there are some interior pieces that need to be fit back together (some screws missing, stuff like that), replace the crappy alpine tape deck and aftermarket speakers with a decent cd player and speakers (since there is already aftermarket stuff in it, i don't feel bad about this), and it needs the exhaust fixed/replaced. Otherwise, I'm just gunna keep it stock and watch it hold it's value.

Thank goodness. Glad to see you won't ruin her and keep her for what she's worth.

Can't wait to see more detailed pix of it!

I'll have to show you my friend's '74. I've got folders of pictures of us getting it restored/customized, the not-cheap way. So far, the engine, transmission, interior and stereo are done.

im very interested Tim :)

I am really looking foreward to getting into this car and getting it running like it should be... it doesn't run bad, it starts and drives just fine; but its been sitting for a long time, so it will take some work and some exercise to get it back in tip-top shape. It will take too much work to make it a perfect car (at least for me and my budget) but it will be a fun 'sunday afternoon; I'm in no hurry to get anywhere' type car.

ps-It's really weird to see people staring everywhere I go in this car.
