Since I finished my '93 Honda Civic DX coupe a week ago I figured it was about time for me to post some pictures of it and let everyone know what I swapped into the car.
I got the car from 06fg1 about 3 weeks ago. It came with a blown D15B7. My original intentions for the car was to swap in my D16Z6, but it still needs a few things to be at the point where I'm happy with it. So, I searched for an engine for a little while and I came across an D15B6 a.k.a. a Honda CRX HF engine. Doing the swap took a little ingenuity but it all came together in the end. To get the swap to work properly in my car I had to use a '92-'95 Honda Civic CX air intake and intake manifold. Finding a throttle body and intake manifold gasket for this car is a bitch. I had to make lots of phone calls to several auto parts stores to find them. I used the stock D15B7 ('92-'95 Honda Civic DX/LX) fuel and spark setup to run the beast, with the exception of a set of MSD spark plug wires. The motor is a stock, low mileage 8-valve that puts out an incredible 62hp to the crank. I reused the automatic transmission that came with the car. Thats right, its an auto. The motor also has power steering and A/C. The most suitable ECU to run the car with was the automatic P06, so I stuck with that. I'm using a Holley Airmass header, OBX resonated test pipe, and a stock '92-'95 Honda Civic hatchback B-pipe and muffler, modified to fit and painted flat black.
All in all, I had a lot of fun building the car and I'm very pleased with how it has turned out. I've been driving it for about a week now and I've had no CEL's and have only had one problem with the car, which was my own error in judgment. Its been getting great gas mileage so far. It came with a ten month old full tank of gas, which got me 31 MPG. After I ran that tank to empty and refueled, I'm getting 40+ MPG. Another plus for the car, it only has 115,XXX original miles. As far as the mods on the car besides whats done to the motor include H&R race springs, an Ebay camber kit, Acura Integra GSR "Blades" wheels, Nitto NT450 tires, Ebay tail lights, an SiR front lip, and a Kenwood head unit. I plan on going with just a clean, OEM look on the car and eventually swapping in my Z6 once its done the way I want it.
Once again I want to thank everyone who made it possible for my car to run.
And now some pictures
