carbon fiber hood restoration

Post by DC_T »

My VIS carbon fiber hood looked like trash. I figured it was done with until i found this thread on honda-tech :

In here the guys used a product from 3M, a fiberglass restorer and wax. I didn't have crap to do today, and it was kinda nice, so i figure why not give it a shot, couldn't hurt.

I looked for the 3M product, but couldn't find it anywhere. I ended up going to Bass Pro and looking in the boat section and found a Mcguiars product that was basically the same. It came in a box w/ oxidation remover, polish and wax for like $30.

After a few hours I gotta say, it worked really well. My hood doesn't look brand new by any means, but it looks way better than it did.
