Stock GSR Intake Manifold

Post by CmeltoN »

Ive been reading around on the GSR motor and i see almost everybody gets rid of the stock intake manifold....is the stock one junk? Because i would think that the dual stage intake would be alot better than say a Skunk2 one...any info is appreciated Thanx

yeah i see alot of turbo'd cars that dont have them...youd think that the extra runners would help with all the extra airflow....if you could tune when that extra runner would open

WTF do you know? You dont even have a lagit manifold!

With that said if they were your best bet for HP then there would be no aftermarket manifolds made.

They're a pain in the ass and get in the way. I can't wait to get rid of mine, even if i dont really see power gains i will still be happy with out it.

my intake is about as legit as it comes. I'd like to get the new kinsler intake mani but that's a whole different story. I've never actually had a gsr mani only itr mani and the one I have now so I can't say from personal experience how they are but after market is out there for a reason

it's mostly all about looks. the stock GSR IM can be called ugly since it doesn't look like normal IM's. now if you can't afford a aftermarket GSR IM then port it out a bit. 68mm or higher TB can give you a better flow of air through the IM. this should answer your question. i have had 3 GSR's in my life. when i switched to a aftermarket IM i saw little to no gains, and with a stock TB. It just flowed with the aspect of the car better.
