Rust free, completely stock CRX Si with 52k miles on it. As I write this, the bidding is up to $8,000 with over 4 days left. Any thoughts on the value of this?

Yeah, I hadn't thought about that. It might be pricey, but you could always go the 'agreed upon value' route with some insurance companies. That is the sort of thing that classic car collectors do.
It would be terrible to have it totaled and receive a pittance of a payout from the insurance company.
I'd pay $5k tops if I had it. There's a discussion on Crxcommunity.com about that car.

That is awesome. This is the kind of car you can't really say is "worth x amount of dollars". I suppose you could make that argument for any used car, but this being a crx Si I think it's different. I could see some rich Honda enthusiast out there seeing this car and be willing to spend huge money on it so he/she can put it in a garage to preserve it. Most of us wouldn't spend more than 5-6k but I'd be floored if anyone on this site has more money than they know what to do with...no offense.
I'd be more impressed if it had say under 30k miles. Yeah it's cool but it's still a 23 year old crx. Maybe if it was an Si-R or something then I could see 8k. It's still pretty cool tho.
The car is in great shape and more preserved than 95% of CRX's of the world, but it's not 100% showroom floor minty fresh.
