Do to my hectic schedule, it Looks like this spring I won't be taking my yearly road trip to "Tail of the Dragon".

So now I am now looking for a local solution.
Since I live in the land of strait/flat roads, I was wondering what technical and demanding roads you guys out west like to drive on at your leisure. I know there are several out in the Ozark area, but I rarely get out that way so I don't know where to look.
If any of you guys know of a place I should check out that's only a few hours from the city, post it up.
A googlemaps link would be a plus

94 to Washington, then 47 to Warrenton. It's a bit scenic, the curves aren't as tight as Wild Horse.

If you do ever want to make it down to the Ozark area, I try to set up lunch cruises every 5-6 weeks when the weather is decent. Our next one will be around the end of March down 125 to the Pizza Cellar in Branson.

94 is great. You can take it from Defiance all the way out to Highway B (almost out to Hermann) and come back via 70. It's a fun drive. Probably about 2.5 hours, maybe less.

94 to 54/63 is 99 miles from highway 40. It has several 'stages' if you will, varying curves and straights... after 47 it's flat and can be driven faster and not much traffic... definitely fun.
Between 40 and 47, 94 is pretty curvy and fun though traffic can suck... D, F, T, and a few smaller roads inbetween are very curvy and very fun. Also, it's impossible to get lost out there - river to the south and 70 to the north.
I have cruises every few Sundays - weather permitting. I'll post up the next one I do...

Lol I drove through there after the rally last year. The roads out that way are amazing. So many twists and turns and elevation changes it was crazy. You gotta be on your game out there tho and pay attention to the signs that tell you what's up ahead cause you can't see some of the turns after coming over a crest an will end up wrapped around a tree or off the side of a hill in a ditch. I'd take a gps also lolBFE;256623 wrote:google bixby, mo and plan a route within an hour and a half of it lol
