Thinking of getting a bike . . .

I found a Honda Nighthawk S (CB700SC I think). It's for sale for $600. Was $1000. I'm short on the cash though and trying to drop hints for people to get it for me for my birthday. It's like the blue one below (they came in blue/black and red/black). Seems straight except paint on left side is faded and there's a rip in the seat. My neighbor's son lives next to the guy selling it, and he said it's straight and runs to his knowledge. I haven't talked to the seller yet. What do you guys think.
