Ever wonder why Im affraid of going down town?

Well, this pretty much sums it up.

Also, there is a gang jacking cars downtown and other city locations and they may not be related. According to a source in the prosecutors office, this group is from south city; they block the victim via SUV in front and back and 2 armed thugs jump from each vehicle; force the vic from their vehicle, and drive away. The police think these might be the guys responsible for lighting up the car at 18th and Olive a few weeks before the killing at Maggie O'Briens.

A second group of carjackers from the Carondelet area also jacks cars, but most their MO is unknown at this time save for the fact the pistol whip the victim during the theft.

CARRY A VERY LARGE GUN WITH MANY ROUNDS when in the city at night.

While I thought that area was relatively safe it seems not to be the case. I was just called 10 days ago by an attorney inquiring about my interest ina murder case on a parking lot BEHIND Maggies. Seems there is a very unruly crowd attending the rap, hip hop club located at the western end of Union Station before you enter the doors on the 20th St. end. In spite of all the cops (about 10) working secondary "outside" the club, the above murder took place and the guys in the 18th and Olive incident had just been booted from the club. Seems there is much more violence than publicized; so much in fact that a Lt from the PD wrote a memo requesting the club be closed!!! This was BEFORE the murder and the 18th and Olive shooting.

Sadly, very sadly, things are really out of control downtown.

All of those crazy white people moving to the south city and into downtown lofts have really made it dangerous there. lol

I go to the north side a few times a week. I haven't been attacked and killed by any gangs yet. I guess I'm lucky.

No, its because I've seen Ghetto Brawls 1, 2, and 7. And I know how to survive the mean streets. And if somebody says rolla's I know to gtfo of there.

The stuff that really scares me is the killa stranger ... you move higher up the gang banger status ladder by killing someone that just happened on by, or during a robbery ... cold blooded killa' crap

It amazes me the power the media has over some people. OMG there were a few car jackings, I am going to stay out of St. Louis City forever!!!

i remember hearing pretty much the same thing probably a year or so ago, doesnt really surprise me. Its not going to keep me from going downtown though

i walk through downtown every morning, during the day, and in the afternoon. nobody bothers me except a few bums wanting change.
