So, I Had A Fit Yesterday

Post by GTI-Guy »

As in the Honda Fit. My Sister just bought this and I took it for a spin in an empty parking lot. Really a balanced, nimble handling little car. Was doing some slaloms and figure 8's and thought what a great DD this would be ... fun, fuel efficient, plenty of room for 4, etc. Acceleration 0-60 is 9 seconds so not fast, but still enjoyable pep especially given mid 30's mpg. She got the sport edition with paddle-shifting auto, alloys, body kit ... got it out the door for $16k. Not bad. Sure it kinda' looks funky, but to me in a functional way

Anybody driving this?

I wish. I know many people on here like those cars, most of us are just too poor to afford a new car :(
but if I could... I would own one.

ps-they will accept the K-series engines too (rsx-s, new Si, etc)... that might help turn that 'enjoyable pep' into something a little more substantial.

i drive probably one a week (new ones) and they are cool at first, but im pretty burnt out on them. they just suck ass imo. after ripping the whole entire dash and steering column out of one, i hate them for life. if you get over 30mpg anywhere, youre doing pretty well, i believe the window sticker says 28-30, drop 2 0r 3 mpgs off of that and thats more realistic.

I think that's with the new EPA calc's correct?

And hey, Gynecologists tire of their work too. Compare the FIT against its competition, and other more "substantive" cars and it will out handle them

That's good 'nuff for me for a DD

Poor!? How can that be? This is the richest country in the world and all that?

Well, okay, I'll shut up now

If I lost my job tomorrow, I'd get my butt selling home security systems ... very deceptive line of work, overlooked for income potential ... average sale is a few thousand, close rate is high, commissions are 10%ish, plus you make money annuity style on the revenue stream from monthly monitoring fees ... six figure income is not uncommon at all

Back to the Fit ... it's an impressive handler, didn't know about the engine transplant possibilities, but there's also a lot of Mugen and Spoon support out for it

LOL

I would love to get a Fit and just get some rims and drop it, then drive the wheels off it. But I have a payed for integra which gets 30mpg, plus I don't care about little shit that happens to it. If I had a new care, even a cheap one, I would be like Hitler trying to keep it nice.

I would kill everyone else to keep it the way I want.

I've been laying kind of low, my gf and I broke up so I only have computer access at work and buddies houses.
