House fire help

Post by Kate »

So, since the other thread got lost... this is a new one. For those that didn't get a chance to read this before, i had a friend who's house burnt down Wednesday night. He lost everything, including two dogs, two cats, his father's and brother's ashes, and now to make things worse, anything that did not actually have smoke or water damage is now ruined also due to the roof of their house collapsing. So anything that was salvageable is now out of the question. They will not let them in/on the property. I know others have already offered things, and I really appreciate that. I will work with all of you in any way that it takes for us to get together for me to collect items that you all want to donate.

He is roughly 6' and wears a jean size of either 32x34 or 34x32, he will take either, and a large in shirts. I am not sure of his mom's clothing size, I will let you know on that later.

I know that they are looking for an older used computer that they can buy for cheap. It will be a little while before the homeowners insurance checks start coming in, and they were told that it could be up to 6 months before everything is done.

Ahead of time, I really appreciate anything that anyone can donate. Nothing is to small or insignificant. Thank you all!

The only thing that they have been told is that they will be reimbursed for a certain percentage of what they spend on hotels. That just does not do a whole lot for them though...

but it sucks if you don't have the money to spend on hotels in the first place. that gets expensive and then you have to wait to get reimbursed. that really sux. i feel so bad for them. they are definatly in my prayers

If you can, whenever you have time, get it all together for me, and I will meet up with you to get it.
