What up my honda friends!
Just checking in from downtown Seattle from the motel. I got the car that i came out here for in portland on friday. Overall, the car check out pretty good. It needs some small things here and there. Like i posted before, it needs AC, so that will be mechanical project no.1.
I had a near mishap already...
I was driving this AWESOME twisty road in the Columbia River gorge. I ran over a decent sized rock (remember, the car is lowered a bit). Find out a few hours later (next day) that the rock hit my radiator drain plug. Luckly, i caught it in time as i was leaving Mt Rainier National Park. Got it topped off but also found out the front tires had really bad camber wear, so i changed those as well (futura's).
However, this car is somewhat of a project. It is throwing a check engine light code. It has a few oil leaks which is probably the cause of that. The engine is strong however and has only 129k miles.
The car is still a "secret" to some, but the peeps on here that know me well know what it is.
I have decided to do this to the car-Fix the seal leaks and its getting a Turbo treatment :dogpile:
wish me luck getting back to STL (got 2100 miles ahead of me the next 3 days).

Sounds like you're having fun Eric, and with that type of car those twisties must be nice too. Well be safe and I can't wait to see it when you get back! :w00t:

I made it!
Im back in St Louis, a bit sun-burnt and alot tired. It sux driving in this crap weather without AC. It was so nice up in the PNW-didn't need it!
anyways, let me give you guys an idea of what i want to do with this thing:
THe car has tons of potential. It has lots of little flaws im going to work on before its makes it debut to the group.
The exterior is pretty damn good. A few parking lot dents and one more major dent on the drivers side front fender. It needs a good wax as well as some touching up. I dont really care for the wheel color. However, they are just painted wheels, so im going to strip them down, prime them and put a few coats of spray on them (color pending).
The fog lamps dont work-can anybody help me with those?
The interior needs a bit of work, but its all little stuff. The car was re-carpeted sometime ago and it needs to be tucked again. Also, the glove compartment needs a bit of help. It also needs a trunk tray and tail-light covers for the inside of the trunk.
As i stated, the AC does not work. However, i think its just empty of freon. I havent looked at it enough to determine if the car has been retrofited to take R134. If it has, all it needs is a recharge. The AC light comes on and it sounds like it works, but no cold air.
Here is where the problem is. The engine runs VERY strong-i averaged 33.6mpg on this trip, which i never thought this car could do. It does have a/a few seal leaks (havent determined which ones yet). It may also have a power steering leak, but the pump has been replaced (i will investigate that more during the week). I need to do a total tune-up on the car as well as fix these seals. Anybody up for an engine removal and fix? The car threw the check engine light pretty much the entire time maybe due to these reasons.
Before i turbo the car, i want the car to be in stock running condition, meaning no leaks and do a compression test to see where it stands.
Im pretty excited about this car! Who is up for some help?
